Brewery started a journey with a passion for British-style brewing, which led to the commission of a brewery from a UK manufacturer. Thanks to a strong recommendation from Kelham Island Brewery in Sheffield, we connected with Mr. Vincent Johnson of Johnson Brewing Design. Vincent's extensive knowledge of beer and brewing was invaluable despite his thick Northern accent. Our brewery was crafted in Bury, Lancashire (famous for black pudding) in 2012. Vincent came over late that year to weld the pipework and get our brewery up and running. Our first brew, “Big V Amber,” named in his honor, has since become a staple at Freewheel.
